Hey everyone, it’s me Diamond. In this article, I am going to talk about the Western Governors University Academy for IT and about how much I learned about myself and the course.

First, I will talk a little bit about the IT course. So, this course has twenty-three different lessons. Every lesson ends with a practice quiz that you can retake an unlimited number of times and a lab, for example lesson two, has setting up the computer lab. Then some lessons have a problem-based question for example lesson five has a troubleshooting and support lab where we use the CompTIA Troubleshooting Model to fix a computer problem. The course has vocabulary games, flash cards, and there is a final course assessment that has seventy-five questions at a time limit. WGU Academy also appoints you a success coach, gives you access to a tutor 24/7, gives you access to other students in the course with an online discussion group, and technical support. One thing I love about this course is the completion guide, basically a checklist to help you stay on track. The guide ranges from 30–90 days but you don't have to use it. This course taught me the fundamentals of IT and I will always be grateful for it.

Let’s talk about my experience with this course and how I found it. I happened to stumble upon this course from a LinkedIn Post from Teneika Askew. This course for me was entirely free because of the Reboot Representation Tech Coalition partnership with WGU!!! This course for me came with its own set of problems because when I first started this course, I didn’t have a laptop, so I had to go to the library a few times a week for a few weeks. I have a Chromebook with isn't compatible for this course, so I had to save for a laptop and eventually I got one. Another problem was that I was incredibly nervous taking this course and I had a lot of self-doubt and was very anxious about myself. Enough about the negatives, let's talk about the positives. I signed up for this course in mid-April and finished in the first week of July. I did the 60-day completion guide just in case anyone wanted to know. I enjoyed this course very much and my favorite things to do were the problem-based questions because I love challenges and I enjoy learning new things. With the help of my success coach, I learned that I am a very strategic and calculated person. That I am a hardworking person, someone who is dedicated, diligent and persistent in their work. I have set clear goals and work towards them with enthusiasm and passion. I refuse to give up easily when faced with challenges or difficulties. I am always willing to learn new skills and improve my performance. I continuously take pride in my work and deliver high-quality results. I will always be grateful and thankful for her. Byeeee
